Fibersol®-2 is a digestion-resistant, maltodextrin, soluble corn fibre.
Its primary use is as a low-calorie dietary fibre or bulking agent and it can easily be added to all types of beverages, processed foods, cultured dairy products, frozen dairy desserts, confections, dietary supplements and more.
Ideal for specialised applications, it has rapid dispersion and quick dissolution properties and doesn't affect the taste or add unwanted texture.
Research has shown that Fibersol®-2 supports intestinal regularity and helps relieve occasional constipation, as well as improving stool consistency without creating excess gass. Fibersol®-2 could inhibit intestinal tumour growth and prevent the atrophy of the large intestinal lining. It promotes the growth of probiotic (beneficial) bacteria in the colon and may potentially reduce the incidence of various diseases.
Studies demonstrated that when Fibersol®-2 is taken with a meal, it may help to reduce blood glucose and insulin levels for healthy individuals. It also increases satiety and delays post-meal hunger.
Fibersol®-2 improves carbohydrate metabolism and helps reduce blood triglycerides and serum cholesterol levels, but effectively retains levels of HDL (good) cholesterol.
How it works
Fibersol-2 has been shown to increase specific satiety hormones PYY and GLP-1. These hormones are released from the gut and communicate to the brain that you are full.
